You guys honestly thing that the highly reputable journalism source TMZ got a hold of a Carrie Prejean Sex Tape and wouldn't publish it?

This is really an experiment to test how you can get traffic from a top google trend search.

my site http://carrieprejeantape.nt5.us was created on this purpose.
the exact keywords are carrie prejean tape

A security issue: Traffic Blueprint database hacked

I was looking for a review of this product when I came to a forum where someone had posted this site's members database.
This may be a lucky day for me: the opportunity to contact 2,500 website owners interested in internet marketing, traffic and SEO.
I don't think that sending this msg to them could be considered spam.

*****: a security issue (your account has been compromised)

Hi *****,

Sorry for my English, but I bet you won't care about it after reading this msg.

Googling for information about how to get traffic to my websites I came to trafficblueprint.info
Before buying, as I usually do, I started searching for a decent (not a reseller's) review.
What I found in a forum was a full list of this website's members posted by a hacker!

At first I thought that it was not my business, but what would I expect you to do if you had found my personal record in a similar case?
I would certainly be grateful if you warned me. So that's why I'm contacting you.

Your username is ***** and your password is *****.

I respect your privacy and I have not logged in using your data.
But I did test 3 of the records just to find if that list was valid or not.
The bad news is that all were functional.

If you receive this message twice is because I found 2 different addresses in your record.
I hope you find this warning useful.
Regards and good luck!

Ricardo del Rosal

PS: I was thinking that, as you bought traffic blueprint, we share common interests.
I'm currently developing a marketing network. I'm in the early stages of this project.
I’m looking for people interested in domain business that may help me to develop the Domain Share Trading project.
I don't ask for register fees, contributions or any kind of payment. There’s no catch.
I invite you to visit my blog http://nt5.us/domainshare. Thank you!

But I don't have an automated mailing system and sending 2500 mails manually is not my best choice for a weekend. I think that the best thing to do is to contact the website owner.

Great News: A Google Top Result!

"Domain Share Trading" exact keywords are not frequently used in google search, but although there's no available data using keyword tools for that keyword, if you google it you'll find ads (means someone must be searching or there wouldn't be advertisers).
visit Domain Share Trading website
Google Domain Share Trading
This is a very good starting point. If many people start searching for this concept in a few months this top position will be really valuable. There's a website I use to test my websites value evolution: yourwebsitevalue.com. As you may see my website has been appraised $6! (2009-09-20)

Domain Share Trading

This is my new project. http://domainsharetrading.com
I have listed some of the new websites I'm promoting and I'm contacting people to enter manually, using twitter account domainshares
Unbelievable response.

This is the first article I submitted:

How much is a domain really worth?

A domain name is worth exactly as much as a buyer is willing to pay for it. Although self-called experts state that "An expert evaluation of a domain name's value is critical intelligence for domain buyers and sellers looking to determine a fair market price" domain appraisal is not an exact science. A domain reseller might be successful but only if he learns to spot the rare opportunities where he can buy for a low price and sell in a short time making a difference. It's a risky business indeed and it's not for everyone.

Take these Numbers and Facts from SEDO (February 2008):
  • Domain transaction volume per month: > $6 million
  • Number of members: 690,000
  • Number of domains in our database: 11,500,000
  • Number of parked domains: 3,200,000
  • Number of domains sold per month: > 1,900
They are telling you that in a year they sell roughly 2,000*12=24,000 domains from a total of 11,500,000. That's only a 0,2%.

So what happens to the remaining 99.8%? They must be renewed or they are dropped. Nobody adds a domain to SEDO's database without expecting to sell it before having to pay renewal fees, but only 2 out of 1000 succeed. Their declared monthly transaction volume is >6M, that means an average of 6,000,000/1,900=3,157$/domain. Really attractive end price, but only for the lucky 0,2% sellers...

Those who can't sell will lose an average of 110M/year in renewal fees. Needles to say that someone struggling to sell may pay for their "expert appraisals" and their "featured places" and spend an extra 50-100$ in his valuable domain.

This is a highly speculative market. There are few winners and many, many losers. An average Joe will certainly belong to the 99,8% losers group. He has better chances to win at the casino compared to investing in this marketplace.

Domain Parking

If you park a domain you get a page full of ads. They pay you for surfers clicking these ads and you may get some money. But they surely get much more than you. SEDO pays 0,03-0,05$/click. A domain, on average, gets less than 3 clicks a month because traffic is restricted to potential buyers (random natural traffic is meaningless). So you might expect to cover 1-2$ of the 10$ renewal fee. But there are better parking offers. Godaddy pays 60-80% of the real PPC (Pay Per Click) revenue. If you want higher percentages you must pay them a monthly fee. You end up loosing more than without parking. A website owner with a Google Adsense for Domains parking may get better results, but only if the domain name features high average PPC Exact Keywords and there is enough traffic (and Google decides that he is playing by their ever changing rules and pays him).

A New Concept

Domain Share Trading is a new concept for domain investors. A domain is subdivided into 100 shares. Investors buy one or more shares from one or more domains. They earn a monthly revenue proportional to the actual advertising revenues generated by the shares of the domains they invest into. They can sell their shares for a lower price at any moment. But in case a buyer offers more than the last payed price they have to sell or update their investment to the new best price. An investor may decide to buy a domain name and have it transferred. In this case he must pay a total price equal to the sum of each share's actual price multiplied by a minimum transaction profit factor.

I find domain trading a real challenge. I know people that made millions with domains but I'm not one of them (yet). Personally I need to work on solid grounds and "luck" is not a factor to consider in my business plans. As far as I know this domain sharing concept is original and may lead to new cooperative ways of minimizing risks and costs for domain investors.
You can see some examples of how a high PPC Exact Keyword Domain Adsense parking page looks like here:

Domain Names Are A Pain In The Ass!

I have made ZERO sells this week on eBay, and I owe them $275 in listing fees. Butt this has been a challenging situation and I have come up with great ideas. The first one:

http://hemorrhoids.com.ar

I've created a complete WP website, with Clickbank Affiliate landing pages, Amazon Store and Google Custom Search. I'm optimizing for search engines and many keywords (including misspelled keywords).

The second one: cooming soon...

Update: Good news!!! I started my Google Adwords Campaign for this site. Nothing to report about clicks yet, but fooling around I googled "hemorrhoids are a pain in the ass" and...

Guess who's on 25th position?

In google.com.ar the same search string results in 18th position!

My new site!

Amazing Domain Deals has a new website. I installed Wordpress in less than 30 minutes. I find WP really useful for new websites, but I've been too busy to start learning about it until today.
The site is under construction. The url: http://amazingdomaindeals.com

Amazing Domain Race!!!

OK, I am decided to end with a doubt I have since I started 2 months ago with this domain business:

Is there a real difference between .com and .info domains if they have the same exact words? I have not found a satisfactory explanation about why people are willing to pay 10 or more times for a .com name. So I designed this test:

I have 2 attractive exact keyword .com domain names. They are ForexHistorical.com and TechniqueGolf.com.
Both have been parked at godaddy for a while and they were the best performers of my stock.
I recently bought the same keyword .info names, and to make it complete I registered .com.ar names also!
I've set Adsense for the 6 domains, with identical landing pages, and I will keep them parked until I get 100$ profit from the best performer. I will draw my conclusions at that point.

How long will it take? I don't know. According to godaddys performance it may take 6 months, but I expect many curious visitors to my ebay auctions to visit this parked pages and to eventually click on ads to watch how the 6 different channels evolve (I promise to publish my results daily). At least in the end I will have an extra 100$ in my pocket :-)

It will be like a horse race! Will you place your bets?

Exact Keyword .com.ar Domains Experiment!

I've done a lot of work about my .com.ar new names.
My goal is to get a realistic appraisal of a lot of nearly 30 names featuring English Exact Keywords.
My eBay listing of StudentLoans.com.ar has got ZERO feedback (at this moment 76 people visited my listing, I have 2 watching and 1 bidder well below the reserve price, thank you anyway).
I haven't had a single question like "hey dude! what's this all about?". Or "do you really think a domain value has something to do with exact keywords?". Or maybe a comment like ".com have value because people type their urls and typing an extra .ar may hurt their finger!". Ok, enough sarcasm for today...

Here is the lot I'm talking about:

domain:keywords:estibot appraisal
for .com
AsbestosCancer.com.arAsbestos Cancer$100,000
AutoInsurance.com.arAuto Insurance$590,000
AutoInsuranceOnline.com.arAuto Insurance Online$240,000
AutoQuote.com.arAuto Quote$230,000
BlockbusterOnline.com.arBlockbuster Online$180,000
CarDonation.com.arCar Donation$300,000
CarQuote.com.arCar Quote$310,000
ChaseCredit.com.arChase Credit$210,000
ConsolidateLoans.com.arConsolidate Loans$210,000
ConsolidationLoan.com.arConsolidation Loan$230,000
DiscoverCreditCard.com.arDiscover Credit Card$190,000
EquityLoans.com.arEquity Loans$290,000
ForexHistorical.com.arForex Historical$3,000
HomeEquityRate.com.arHome Equity Rate$14,000
HomeEquityRates.com.arHome Equity Rates$100,000
HomeRefinancing.com.arHome Refinancing$240,000
InterestRates.com.arInterest Rates$290,000
LaserHairRemoval.com.arLaser Hair Removal$420,000
LaserSurgery.com.arLaser Surgery$160,000
LifeInsuranceQuote.com.arLife Insurance Quote$280,000
LifeInsuranceQuotes.com.arLife Insurance Quotes$280,000
LowestMortgage.com.arLowest Mortgage$5,900
RefinanceRates.com.arRefinance Rates$110,000
SecuredLoans.com.arSecured Loans$360,000
StudentLoan.com.arStudent Loan$400,000
TechniqueGolf.com.arTechnique Golf$2,000
TermLifeInsurance.com.arTerm Life Insurance$420,000

Now let's see if I can make my point:

  1. I don't know nothing about domain name appraisal
  2. I don't want to gamble. I understand that whoever has a cristal ball may make tons of zillons trading domain names but I don't have one (yet.)
  3. I was told that Exact Keywords were desirable and I pretend to prove that they really are.
  4. I have 2 main tools (Estibot Appraisal and Google Adwords Keyword Tool) to test any domain name and get a calculated value.
  5. The real value is disclosed when someone pays for the name
  6. Domain auction statistics may provide an additional reference

and enough for today, I must keep on working...

LaserSurgery.com.ar And Adsense for Domains

This is the first time I setup Google's Adsense for Domains. It is quite simple:

  1. get a domain name
  2. update DNS server
  3. create a channel for tracking
  4. wait and see...

This is the result:

http://lasersurgery.com.ar/

If you visit this page you won't find some fancy landing page as godaddy provides for cashparking, but it has some clear advantages:

  1. it's free
  2. you get payed 100% (not 60 or 80%)
  3. you can track traffic much better

Hope to send many visitors. I may be parking almost 50 domains by this weekend.

Good Bye, Disney...

DisneyShopOnline.com was sold today. Although the price was much lower than I expected to get for it, I'm satisfied. I can focus in .com.ar domains now.
So thanks Dan and good luck!

StudentLoans.com.ar goes first...

I've started with my project golf-forex, but I need some cash so yesterday I tried to sell http://StudentLoans.com.ar on eBay.
Great. $2.50 max bid!
This was not what I expected. Maybe I can't make my point when I try to sell a good idea.
Today I will republish using a beautiful template I created for this name.

Sparta!!!!!

I'm not defeated yet.
But this time I shall let Mickey Mouse sleep for a couple of weeks and focus in the best CPC domains I currently own:
I also registered today these domain names in Argentina (.com.ar)
My goal this time is to play by the rules (Google's...) and to build 4 websites: 2 identical golf sites and 2 identical forex sites.

For the first group (golf) I will get content optimized for this keywords:
  • technique golf

  • golf swing technique(s)

  • disc golf technique(s)

  • proper golf swing technique(s)

  • golf putting technique(s)

  • golf driving technique(s)

  • golf grip technique(s)
For the second group (forex) the keywords will be:
  • forex historical

  • historical forex data

  • free forex historical data

  • forex historical rates

  • forex historical charts

  • forex historical data download

  • forex historical chart
I will build a simple structure for the sites: a one level tree sitemap, including one page for each keyword and standard pages like "about us", "contact us", etc.
No fancy javascript. Just plain html files.

When the first group is ready I shall beg Google to index the two sites (.com & .com.ar)
Then I will do the same for the second group.
In both cases I will also get the sites indexed by microsoft live search engine (bing.com).
If you are following this blog please leave a comment and let me know what you think about this plan. I would really appreciate any collaboration.

Oh, Google, please forgive my sins!

Google gives, Google takes.
That are the rules you must accept. Just after publishing my listing in eBay ($29 cost) I receive a msg from a friend asking me what had happened to my Google first page results.
Again vanished!
I promptly went to Webmaster Tools. I must admit that I failed following their guidelines (in fact I did it my way, trying to please a robot instead of publishing quality content)
My site was ugly and I was proud of it and bragging "Look How I got Google First Pages with this ugly site!"
Ok. I ended the auction. My reputation is more important than $29.
Back to work. The party is over...

DisneyShopOnline.com once more!

Today I listed this domain (see http://nt5.us/disney) with a Buy it Now option price of $2,000.

I payed for listing in 2 categories a lot of money, but I got 106 visitors, 10 bids (4 bidders) and a max bid of 127 $. I'm listing it again in an hour for tomorrow. If it doesn't sell I will probably take a second chance offer, but lets see what happens.

In the meantime, take a look at my new Amazon sale of today!

DisneyShopOnline.com reindexed and... AMAZON sales!

Google heard my prayers and reindexed disneyshoponline.com today.
I keep 2nd place for exact keywords, but the new results display 2 results in first page.
But not only search results position is important. Guess what?
I've got Amazon.com Sales!!!

Google search results (USA) for this keywords: disney shop online keeps 2nd. place, but with a big difference: it displays 2 search results! check it here: http://nt5.us/google

New results:

disney shop online kindle keeps ** 1st place ** but now displays 2 search results!

new disney shop online video games 6th (another 1st page! )
new disney shop online software 7th (another 1st page! )
new disney shop online amazon 8th (another 1st page! )
new disney shop online pixar 14th (2nd page)
new disney shop online dvds 32th (3rd page)
new disney shop online books 43th (4th page)
new disney shop online books 53th (5th page)
new disney shop online games 64th (6th page)
new disney shop online games 75th (7th page)

The different main keyword combinations and results are:
online disney shop 3rd place no change
disney online shop 58th place (yesterday it was 56th ???)

So today I have 7 google search results in first page. Not bad, isn't it?
and check bing.com: 8th place! 1st page! WOW! Great day.

Alexa rank today is 20,037,431 (who understands them?)

Golf Domain Names

I have 5 pretty golf domain names that are getting some clicks in godaddy's parked pages.
These are:

The average CPC is high, today I got a single click from USA and its profit was $0.42!
Despite I got $13.44 in revenues from cashparking its cost was $20 for 2 months. I'm losing money...

My ForN97.com strategy

One of my first "rare gems" was http://forn97.com/ and I didn't find it among expired domains.
I created it myself because I have the theory that a ExactKeywordSubdomain.domain.com has better chances to be indexed by search engines than domain.com/ExactKeywordSubdomain.
I can't prove it right now but I would like to test it.
If the search engine results for both variants is the same, then all miths about domain name value related to exact keywords will collapse.
But as I have learned this past week, I may be the only one who believes this theory among eBay domain name buyers.
I listed $0.01 subdomain names on forn97.com 5 times and I got...

0 bids
I thought that despite of the potential buyer doubts about a subdomain name value, the starting bid was absurd so there is no risk to try and see what comes next and always get a +feedback.
Nobody thought the same. But I learned a lesson.
Remember that tale about two shoe salesmen in Africa?
I have a new strategy.

DisneyShopOnline.com again!

disneyshoponline.com is back. It came to the first position in June 26 (read entry), then it disappeared (read entry) and now it's alive again. Lazarus Domain Name?

Google search results (USA) for this keywords: disney shop online 2nd. place!

I tried different combinations and the results are:
online disney shop 3rd place
disney online shop 56th place

and just for the record, disney shop online kindle 1st place!
I published more than 1800 pages with data related to amazon items sold in 6 categories, but this was done less than 24 hours ago, so I don't expect to find results with other keyword combinations.

Alexa rank today is 20,009,879

This is estibot appraisal, saying that disneyshoponline.com is available (obviously outdated!)

Back to ClickBank

ClickBank has been one of my most frustrating Internet adventures.
I thought it was easy:
  1. Signup as an affiliate
  2. Choose one of their 30,000 products to promote
  3. Start advertising in Google
  4. Get traffic through your affiliate link
  5. Make a sale
  6. Earn a comission
  7. Pay advertising
  8. Go To 1. and repeat many, many times

I've made $169 from 5 sales of a book about solar panels in less than 1 month. Great!

But wait... My Google Adwords campaign cost was more than $400!

Ok, I lost. Clickbank, please show me the money! NOPE, sir, they said. We'll keep your money until you have made 5 sells to different credit cards (no Paypal sales to take into account).

A dark nightmare! I've been thinking about forgetting all this BS and sell fried potatos in the streets of Calcuta.

Until today.

I found a simple guide that could have changed the story, and best of all it's FREE!

Please grab your copy here: http://nt5.us/supertips

Is this and ad? Of course it is! But please give me a chance to test my marketing strategy. You don't have to pay a dime. And you'll thank me for sharing this little book with you some day.

This is Clickbank for Newbies index:

Chapter 1. Introduction
Chapter 2. ClickBank basics
Chapter 3. How to succeed with ClickBank
Chapter 4. The problem - why most ClickBank affiliates fail
Chapter 5. The solution
Chapter 6. An irresistible offer

Of course the irresistible offer is the place where you end up buying something, but I dare you to try to resist. If you know Clickbank you'll understand what I'm talking about.

I am awaiting payment for 3 items

I know that I should be patient, but I don't understand how people that participate in an auction can win and then delay payment. I always pay right away. It feels good to win and paying is part of the experience I enjoy.
I should consider eBay's restriction settings in my next listings...

Sold a pretty domain name

Yesterday was a lucky day: I sold downloadmetatrader.com

But the buyer contacted my with an offer via whois service, not eBay.
This domain name looks nice for forex websites. I was planning to list it on eBay next week, but its gone now.
However I have two nice domains about metatrader I'll keep for now:

http://metatraderexpertadvisor.com/
http://metatraderexpertadvisor.info/

The park pages suck. Godaddy doesn't know what the websites should be about.
Expert advisors are scripts written in Metatrader script language. You must have some programming skills to develop an expert advisor, but you can find hundreds of them free if you search.

nt5.us: A Short Domain Name to Shorten URLs

Today I bought a very short domain name: http://nt5.us
I don't know yet if this 3 character .us domain is valuable, but I am going to use it to draw traffic.

My own URL Forwarding Service!
I plan to test some strategic advertising project in Tweeter and I need short URLs, but why should I use any existing service when I can create my own and get all the traffic and backlinks to my domain?
Who needs short url's? Everybody. If you must send an SMS or write a Tweet (140 characters) you dont' have space for a full URL.
By now it should be working.
Examples:

  • My eBay store: http://stores.ebay.com/Amazing-Domain-Deals
    Its short version: http://nt5.us/a

  • This blog's URL: http://amazingdomaindeals.blogspot.com
    Its short version: http://nt5.us/b

  • KissMp3.com listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/Kiss-Mp3-com-PREMIUM-25-000-Appraised-Domain-Name_W0QQitemZ170357445892QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item27aa185504&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A30
    Its short version: http://nt5.us/a1

Nice, isn't it? Of course this service should be free!
If a user requires to claim ownership of the short URL to edit the link or to delete it an email address should be provided when he creates a tag.
Do you realize how useful this could be?

Lets say I want to send this small msg:
  • Hi xxxxx, I have a great domain for sale this week: kissmp3.com
Visit my eBay listing! Go to eBay and search for this name in .com category

Of course this could be improved if I send the link to my listing. Get the point?
  • Hi xxxxx, I have a great domain for sale this week: kissmp3.com
Visit my eBay listing! click here http://nt5.us/a1

The second msg is green. The first msg is blue (i.e. it sucks).
Another idea is to use this service to hide affiliate links. Please try this example:

Move the cursor over this links and look at the URLs displayed. Let's see what happens.

HowToTongueKiss.com or Godaddy's customer support thinks I'm stupid?

Update [Incident ID: 6964320] - Re: HOWTOTONGUEKISS.COM

This is a transcript of the mails between godaddy's support and me regarding a very unpleasant issue: I bought this domain name on July,7 and got an unsolicited refund on July,9. I understand what happened, but I don't accept that godaddy is not responsible for a 2 day delay and all they pretend to do is to offer an apology.
This domain business sucks. In Argentina many poor people work as "cartoneros". They are a sort of 3rd world junk recyclers. Today I feel like one of them. Expired domains that have some value are immediately taken by big companies. We are dealing with the junk, struggling to find what they discard (estibot appraisal >10000$ is hardly ever found). This is how HowToTongueKiss.com is appraised:

My response:
Dear sirs,

I placed my order for this domain name using your site forms.
I made my payment and 2 days later I get a refund?
Do you expect me to accept an apology without any explanation when I'm loosing time and money?
I've spent hours searching for a recently expired domain name with specific keywords and search engine traffic, and when I bought it I started a website project for this name. I have web pages, database and images work done. You should realize my cost has not been $7.19.
This is serious. If the error was mine, please send me a detailed description and tell me what should I do to avoid this situations in the future.
But if the error was yours and you care about your customers this case should not be closed this way.
Thank you

Dear Ricardo del Rosal:

Thank you for your reply.

Your registration for the domain did not process completely with the Domain Registry. This can happen for various reasons. This is why you received a full refund for the registration fee to the payment method it was purchased with.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Please let us know if we can help you in any other way.

My response:

Dear Deirdre,

This is not what I expected when I requested an explanation.
You are no addressing any of my points! You just re-sent the original mail with this slight variation:

Your registration for the domain did not process completely with the Domain Registry. This can happen for various reasons. ????

Does your customer support always proceed this way?
Please answer this questions or be so kind to submit my request to your supervisor in case you can't.

1. Was this error caused by me?
2. If the answer is YES, what should I do to prevent future errors like this?
3. If the answer is NO, why have you waited 2 days to inform this to me?
4. Do you expect me to accept an apology without any explanation when I'm loosing time and money?

This is serious. If the error was mine, please send me a detailed description and tell me what should I do to avoid this situations in the
future. But if the error was yours and you care about your customers this case should not be closed this way.
Thank you

Ricardo del Rosal

Godaddy's support:

Dear Ricardo del Rosal,

In regards to your domain registration issue, all registrars, including GoDaddy, rely upon communication from the Registry's servers. If there are any technical problems between the Registry's servers or ours, it can cause a false positive result to occur where a domain shows as available when it is not. This is a matter beyond our control. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. Our system automatically attempts to re-register the domain, and when it is not able to after multiple attempts, you are notified. We regret any inconvenience you may have encountered as a result of the failed registration.

Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.

Sincerely,

My response:

I don't know what to do. Are they dumb? Or could it be that anything out of the script could mean a legal threaten to them (any economic responsibility?)
Should I insist? I'm not in the mood right now. Let's see tomorrow...

PS: I tried to register KissMyAss.com ($38000 appraisal) but (helas!) it was taken.

247cashfor.me lives!

Today I got a surprise: a $37 Paypal payment!
First I thought it was a mistake. I'm not selling stuff for $37 on eBay.
But then I realized that before entering eBay, on May 19, I bought an eBook about how to make money online. I payed $37 to someone, but the real seller was a woman called Lauryn Herbert.
I bought a domain name (247cashfor.me sucks, I know, but I thought I was being clever choosing 247 and cash and for me!).
I payed goddady a lot of money (didn't know about the coupons) and got a free page (nothing is free with godaddy: they insert ads at the top of your page)
See this: http://247CashFor.me/
Awful page, ads, old design, but it was working.
First I started an adword campaing to test it. I'm embarrased to admit I didn't sell a single book. Money lost. Ok, but it was my fault: all recomendations in the book are about free advertising.
I decided to forget this project and move on.
But I got a payment from someone who later sent me this mail
  • To whom it may concern,
I just purchased this program using my paypal account
xxxx@yyyy.com and did not know that paying with an e-check delays the process 3 to 5 days. I was advised by Lauryn to contact you and cancel my order I had made so I can re-order with a cc so there won't be any delays and I can start asap. My transaction number is 5P282566U5630242S. If you can help me I really appreciate it so much. Thank you, Kim C***m

I was happy: my first sale! And I honored the request, cancelled the transaction and waited with anxiety for my buyer's response. It never came. I was discouraged.

So I forgot about this site. Finito, Kaput, Bye! Until today: Cha Ching! Cash!

I will not draw any conclusions now. But maybe if I had followed the book's instructions I would have earned some bux...

A good deal: How to Kiss Good .com

Yesterday I was payed $230 for this domain.
My cost (not including work time) was $7.16 registration and $43 eBay listing with plus pack.
Not bad. $180 profit!
But I found an article about what I'd like to do in this business:
Sensible expired domain traders always realize the immense value of expired domain traffic and they also understand how expired domain traffic can supplement the overall value of the domain in providing a premium value that eventually helps them in getting the best possible monetary gains. You can make your expired domains prosperous, richer and healthier, when you import and supplement additional traffic to your domain; quality links and an organic type of traffic can help your domain automatically add better value and a premium tag. An expired domain with a big list of quality traffic and inbound links could be a big asset to your domain trading business. However, to make your ambitions a big reality, you may wish to find a practical way to pool traffic and links to enrich the expired domain.

Now, the big question is how you propose to bring quality traffic to your web domain Expired domain traffic will not just come trickling down to your web domain. To make it happen, you will need to create a solid action plan that aims at making people come visiting your web domain. There are several strategies and techniques that help you add traffic and links to your web domain. Here are some of the proven strategies and methods that empower you to import better quality traffic to your expired domain:

Approach Number 1: Buying an expired domain that already has some amount of traffic and inbound links is a viable option. However, finding such a domain is actually a tough task because of the intensive competition surrounding that domain. To ensure that you are buying a good expired domain, you can request for an expired domain appraisal report from the owner. In many cases, an expired domain name may have little amount of traffic attached to it; under such a scenario, you will need to look and examine closely at the uniqueness and specialty of the domain.

Approach Number 2: This is a roundabout way of developing expired domain traffic that needs some amount of time and money. It is also quite tedious and complicated task to add traffic and links to your expired domain. Domain parking is possibly one of the easiest methods to bring good quality traffic to your expired domain. The most beneficial aspect of this approach is the low cost involved in the exercise. Web portals like Sedo offers cheaper domain parking services that also provide a simple web template to make your prospective visitors to click on the page and lead them to another web site.

Approach Number 3: However, the quality of traffic generated here is quite inferior and many search engines may never rate this type of traffic. To bring high quality expired-domain traffic to your domain, you may also wish to set up a well designed and well conceived web portal. When you promote your web portal in a systematic and organized manner, people will come flocking to visit your web site, by typing the actual URL on the address bar of the web site; this type of traffic is true and real and it is highly organic in its nature. An effective Pay per lead program is another additional and lucrative program that could be a potentially powerful formula to create domain traffic as well as a small amount of income.

Approach Number 4: If you are short of good quality traffic, you can even buy a pack of quality expired domain traffic from a seller. However, you are never sure of the inherent quality of traffic purchased by you. In many cases, it may not even work to your benefit and expectations.

Adding value to your domain by importing high quality expired domain traffic means:
  • Creating a premium web domain that carries a top of the class commercial rating.
  • Setting up a well coordinated business opportunity that can provide you lucrative gains.
  • Learn and understand the insider secrets of using the expired domain traffic to its fullest possible extent.

Books On Diabetes indexed by Google!

Wow! http://BooksOnDiabetes.com has been indexed by google robot today!
I tried searching booksondiabetes.com and I found my website on the first page! try it
Ok, that's a start. Less than 2 weeks to get indexed.
I searched books on diabetes and it's gone (not in the first 100 results...)
I searched "books on diabetes" and its position is 68! try it and navigate to the 6th page
Now I'm developing a test to see how long it takes to google robot to refresh new contents.

Google top position vanished!

Bad news. Today my google top position for "disney shop online" is gone.
It had been so easy until now. I bought the domain name. I set up an Amazon store. In a couple of weeks, surprise!
But now...
I don't know much about SEO. But I imagine that a page consisting in just an IFRAME tag can never be indexed.
Today I will upload 1800 pages of real content to my original website. Let's see if Google likes me.

I found that if I login to my google account and perform the same search, I'm back at the top. Log out, it's gone.
It sucks. How does Google know how to display this for my eyes only?

Keep on testing, man.

Thanks, Justin!

Hi Justin,

First of all I want to thank you for your book.
I've learned a lot and today I had my first $240 bid on an auction 3 days before closing!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170350447236&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Maybe I can't follow your instructions strictly, but I really would like to add some value to the domains I buy before listing them. The first thing I've done is to add an Amazon store and Adsense. Not much, but it looks better than a parked domain page.

I got my first google search page top position (or second) for this exact keywords: disney shop online http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=disney+shop+online&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g3
This one I'm not selling for now because I'm trying to learn and experiment with google using different keywords.

I would like to sell your book in my store. Have you thought about how?
Thanks again, and good luck, buddy!

This is a copy of the msg I sent to Justin Dombek. I bought him a book about how to make $10000 a month selling domain names in eBay.
I can't say if following his steps will lead you to that goal because I don't do exactly what he says. I'm stubborn as a mule. I always sing "I did it myyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyy".
But who knows. Maybe this time...

Domain Trading For Dummies?

DigitalCamerasForDummies .com $3500 Valued Domain Name!
For Serious Domain Names Traders. Website included!

I'm confused. I know that a domain name's value is not objective when you bid for $0.99.
Buyers wait till the last seconds and generally you can find that the auction ends with a bid lower than the seller's domain and listing cost. Of course eBay wins.

Time left: 0h 4m 20s (Jun 28, 200905:03:38 PM PDT) and 0 bids!

Only 6 visits (and 4 are mine!!!) I just can't understand what's wrong with my logic.

Sorry ricardodelrosal, your item didn't sell.

Ok, lets go back to the lab, Pinky...

CyberGratis

I must say that this domain name business is an incredible source of pleasure for someone like me, an "idea addict". Oh, God! I did it again...

The last domain registered http://CyberGratis.com

It's not for sale (at least before someone begs to pay big bucks for my new toy!).
Here's is my blog for it: http://proyectocybergratis.blogspot.com/
I like to buy names and sell them with profit, but I'd rather do something more than just finding good opportunities like a miner who finds a gem in a cave. I'd like to add value.

In Argentina there are lots of places where you hire a computer for hours. The fares are between 0,40$ and 0,90$ per hour. But many people don't have other means of Internet access.
My idea is to offer FREE service for an hour if you click ads in a home page pointed at this domain. Of course this kind of ads should not be google's adsense, but local ads to shops near the place. Sounds interesting, don't you agree?

No backlinks yet...

Thought it was a piece of cake, but No Way José!
  • Your search - link:amazingdomaindeals.com - did not match any documents
I wasn't sure, but I thought that google indexed blogger addresses instantly.
I was wrong. You have to wait.
This weekend I'll list 10 domain names in eBay auction, but the rest will be here, waiting to St. Google Robot to have mercy!

Fwd: Email Posting Test

Many of these domain names were bought in lot. But the most amusing task I found till now is to search domains deleted in the last 24 hs. appraise them with the free tools I currently know and try to register them in goddady.
This post is not explicit. If you want to learn the details of how to do this there's lot of free information out there. I bought a book to one of eBay's store owners. It was published 49.90 but I got a better deal making a counteroffer. (ad: go to http://amazingdomaindeals/ and find the book's title!). One thing I learned from this book is how to register domains for $7.19 instead $9.90. With this simple knowledge I saved more than twice the book's cost my first week!!!
NB: I'm not selling this book for now. I'm just grateful to the author.

To eBay Or Not To eBay?

That is the question I would like to address in my first posts.
I'm starting an online business with my eBay store http://amazingdomaindeals.com/
Was that and ad? Of course! I'm not trying to fool you. My primary goal is to lead you to click my links and get some free traffic.

But I thought that if I shared my ups and downs as I develop my eBay business project from the start, many people could benefit from this blog saving many hours and $ by not doing what I did wrong. My cost would be zero so, why not?
On the other hand if you save time or earn money, would that hurt me? No! In fact you will start to trust me. And building confidence sooner or later would return to me as sales from happy customers.
Why eBay? Because I found that many people make a living working just a couple of hours a day trading stuff there. Domain name trading sounds good because you don't need a lot of money to get started and if you are lucky you can find valuable gems.
I'd like to point out these interesting facts about eBay trading:
  • You know your advertising costs. No surprises.
  • Transparency. You can check your sellers reputation and sales history.
  • Prompt payment using Paypal.
  • Nice tools. You can setup a store in hours. Reasonable costs.

I like domain trading. Despite of all the reasons I sell myself to look upon this activity as a relatively safe and self-sustaining business, I must admite it has its gambling side.
And that turns me on. I dream about winning the lottery since I was a child.

Maybe the possibility of buying a really great domain name for pennys and selling it later for millions is something desirable. Maybe not. We'll find out some day, hope soon!
